European Approved Towing Device Statement
To declare that there is a European approved towing device installed in order to support the vehicle’s towing device acceptance for (re-)registration and/or roadworthiness approval purposes in the EU
Available for:
All vehicles of which the towing device from origin has been developed/approved according EU/ECE standards and being installed on vehicles manufactured for the European market that are covered by a Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) or Small Series Type Approval (SSTA)

Required deliverables to be provided by applicant:
- 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Copy of existing vehicle registration documents
- Copy of vehicle owner’s ID card (e.g. copy of passport or driver’s license)
- Company’s VAT number (If ordered by a company with a registered VAT number in the EU)
- Shipping and billing address
- Phone number of shipping address
- Photo’s of the installed towing device showing clearly the component’s ID/approval markings and/or labels
- Country for which the Statement is required (i.e. country of registration)
Important notes before ordering the document:
- European Approved Towing Device Statements are only available for vehicles which are type approved according a European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA).
- Before ordering a European Approved Towing Device Statement, please verify if the vehicle is covered by a European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA). WVTA vehicles are recognizable by the European Whole Vehicle Type Approval Number mentioned on the manufacturer’s plate/label.
